We routinely receive phone calls from customers regarding junk mail, spam, and viruses which are being received through email. Our support staff has helped customers repair their systems with damage from these malicious attacks borne from email. OVIS is proud to now partner with Postini to provide you the latest tools to prevent viruses and junk email from reaching your computer. 

When the service is activated for you, we will send an activation notification to your email account. This will contain the necessary instructions to get your started.

The Postini services are private and secure. The junk email, spam, and virus protection is an automated process. Nobody has access to your email except you. Nobody will read your email. Your email is not censored, YOU control the filter settings. The best news is that you will not have to make a single change on your computer to use or take advantage of this service. 

Here is a brief overview of the Postini service:

• Your email passes through Postini's automated filters that detect suspected junk email and viruses.
  
• Suspicious email is directed to your personal, web-based, password-protected Message Center (it does NOT arrive in your computer's inbox). Think of this as a quarantine area. In your Message Center, you can read the quarantined email online, delete it, or deliver (forward) it to your inbox.
  
• Upon activating this service for your account, you should initially visit your Message Center often because Postini "remembers and learns" from your interaction.  As time goes on you will be able to rely on Postini's periodic notifications of your Message Center activity.
  
• Postini lets you "block" senders; meaning email from them will always be filtered. Or you can "approve" senders; meaning their email will always be delivered.
  
• This service is completely controlled by you. You can turn the virus protection on or off. You can turn the spam filtering on or off. 

The full Postini service is FREE to all of our customers who have completed the Service Updates. If you have not completed the updates and are still dialing into our old system the cost is $1.00 per month. If you wish to sign up for the service, please fill out the Postini Signup Form.  If you have a monthly dial up account with OVIS, the Postini service will be reflected on your next invoice. For six month and yearly account holders, the Postini service will be proated based on your present expiration date and an invoice will be generated and sent to your account.

After verifying your information and activating the service for you, an e-mail will be sent to you with further information on how to log into the service.
