April 4, 2008 4:31 PM The new Webmail system is operation and stable enough to put online. I would suggest that each person logging into the Webmail system avoid making changes to the default settings at this time. This new system has a lot of advanced spam/junk fighting capabilities that can stop spam, but can also stop legit email if configured wrong. I am working on some help related documents for the Webmail system to help everyone learn what the various settings do and how to stop spam/junk mail. The default settings I've globally set on each account should work for everyone at this time. Please note that our Webmail system should not be your primary means of accessing your mail. When you log into our Webmail system you are just using a web based interface to reach your mailbox on our system. Since the data on the Webmail system changes every second it is not practical to even attempt to back it up. If you wish to preserve any data (email, addresses, file attachments, etc), you really should use a POP3 mail client like Outlook Express, Eudora, Windows Mail, etc. When you use a POP3 email program your email is downloaded and stored on your computer, which makes it easy for you to backup your address book, important mail, etc. |
