What is a barebones system!?? The beginnings of
a computer, but requiring additional components in order to operate in the
manner intended. Why would I want a barebones system? Our UPGRADE BAREBONES is
intended for those computer users who may have purchased a computer system that
is uneconomical or next to impossible to upgrade because of integration of
parts (major components built into the motherboard) or unusual cases, power
supplys, etc. This system offers the ability to use components built in your
old system that may be usable in a new one. For example, the floppy disk drive,
hard drive, cd-rom, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc. Once you have your system
installed in the new case, you will be able to upgrade any time in the future,
ending the need to continually buy a new computer system - the goal of most
retailers. Your new computer will have industry standard parts.
Our STARTER BAREBONES is intended for those interested in their first computer,
or adding a second to the home or business. It has a few more components, and
yet costs the same as our other barebones system. However some prefer Intel as
their first choice of microprocessors, and this one contains an IBM - a well
known chip being used extensively with much success.
NOTE: Barebones systems are not intended for a computer novice. However,
if you have some computer experience or would like us to upgrade your system
for you, we can take care of that too. Our systems are tested before they leave
the store, and technical assistance is not available. If your budget is
limited, this is a great way to start a system, and add components as you
become able. Computer prices are at an all time low!!
