After the win on Tuesday, the Monarchs were ready for the Lady Knights
from Wheeling Central, or so they thought.  But who could have prepared
themselves for the shooting display the Knights did in the first quarter of
the game?  The Knights took a substantial lead in the 1st and held it
throughout the entire game.

The Monarchs made an impressive run for a come back in the second half,
and came within 4, but the Knights were on and took the Tournament with
a 57-53 victory over the Lady Monarchs.

It was a good game that would keep anyone's attention.  And this Monarch
mom wishes the Lady Knights good luck in their "State" goals!

Left to right Raquel Burns, Erin Bryson, Moe Mull, and other team members
whose names I do not know. (If someone would call me and tell me who they
are, I will insert the names.)
JM vs Wheeling Central a week later at Wheeling College....

John Marshall's head coach, Stanley
Blankenship, strains to get out of that
chair so bad, he can hardly keep his
backside on the edge.  This, after one
of the refs made a bad call and Stan
called him on it.

When will we learn it's not nice to
question the refs, Stanley?

John Marshall vs. Wheeling Central at the McDonough Center Monday night left
bitter taste in the mouth of this fan.  When the host feels that they can play music
in the middle of a basketball game, and get away with it...when fans can yell
X-Rated verbal abuse at my daughter, and get away with it...when parents can
yell at our coach, calling him "chicken" and then he gets sat down by the ref...
you can't help but wonder.

There is a lot to be said for the quality of this Central team.  Moe Mull is
deadly on her three point shot, Raquel is not only an excellent rebounder and
inside force, and really has the game of basketball well thought out, and with
Erin's quickness and dead eye for that little jumper, they are bound for State!
